Hello, my name is Norma C. Laurent. Welcome to my website devoted to handmade and handcrafted artwork only.
I've worked as a dental hygienist for over thirty years and I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Florida International University. Yet, my passion has always been for art. Solo Art Impressions allows me to share that passion with my valued customers.
Not only am I blessed with an exciting career in art, but also with a wonderful and supportive family. My husband Hector and I spend our weekends attending art gallery openings and enjoying wine tastings....not a bad way to unwind after a tough week at the office!
Since childhood I have devoted countless hours to drawing, painting, and dedicating myself to the arts; always trying something new because I love to learn and discover different ways to express myself. I've taken art classes throughout high school and college, and I've continued this pursuit during evenings and weekends ever since. Perhaps my biggest challenge has been that I can't quite decide which medium I enjoy the most. They all present different creative opportunities.
In the last four years, I've been studying mosaic art. I'm drawn to its versatility, variety of tesserae and colors. I love the idea of creating something functional as well as beautiful. I'm still learning different techniques and how to incorporate different materials.
For years, I've dreamt of starting my own business and I'm thrilled to finally be able to do this. Of course, it had to be art related!
I enjoy meeting and working with all the artists represented here and supporting their art.
