William Turner - was born in Miami, Florida on August 25, 1951. He graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. He has been producing raku fired ceramics for over 20 years. His work has been sold throughout the United States in many fine furniture and interior design stores.
The shapes start with a slip cast from unique molds. After that each piece is a canvas for raku, which is painted by fire.
He uses a unique Copper Matte technique, which he has perfected. William is a master at getting both light and dark colors in his raku from one specially formulated Copper Matte glaze. He personally pulls each piece from the kiln and inspects it before dating and signing it. Each piece is one-of-a-kind.
