Made Wirata was born on February 21,1978 in Gianyar. Gianyar is world renowned for producing famous Balinese art and artisans.
Wirata's family has been dedicated to this art for generations. Wirata first learned to carve from his father. In 1993, his interest in art lead him to learn from a cousin how to carve modern statuettes. Several galleries in Bali now collect his creations.
